One fine day in the early spring of 2013, I was cruising around Statesboro, Georgia in my black Grand Prix, when I had a light-bulb moment. At the time, I had been blogging for about two years, and as I considered where I wanted to take my food writing and culinary entertainment side gig, I thought, “Some days, all I need is a camera crew.” It was a simple idea; one that would soon come to fruition and catapult me into a world of cooking like I had never known before.
Later that summer, I got my camera crew. I became the host and co-producer of Statesboro Cooks, a 30-minute cooking show we filmed right in my tiny kitchen on North Edgewood Drive. That little show was one step in the path I had already begun carving for myself on this crazy, food-loving adventure. Today, in that same spirit of drive and determination, I’m so excited to finally share this announcement: I’M A FINALIST ON SEASON 14 OF FOOD NETWORK STAR!!!! AHHHHH!!! That’s right…you’ll see ME on the Food Network THIS SUMMER! I’ll be competing for the ultimate prize, to host my very own cooking show.

A wise man once told me, you have to make your own luck. He was so right. I’ve never believed in luck, but rather preparation meeting opportunity. There are no secrets to success. It is the result of hard work, learning from failure and being willing to risk it all! I have taken so many steps to prepare for this moment in my life and I truly believe they have all been for such a time as this.
So, here we go, y’all! Cheer me on and wish me good vibes. This Georgia girl is LA bound…bright lights, big city baby!!
The journey begins! Preparing for take off at the Savannah airport as I set out to live the life I’ve imagined.
Stay tuned! More details to come closer to the premier date. Help me spread the word. Please SHARE this post!
