Wild Georgia Shrimp Recipe Round-Up

Today is an exciting day in coastal Georgia. It’s finally shrimp season! My style of cooking is Southern coastal cuisine with a focus on local, seasonal ingredients, so naturally, I love cooking with wild Georgia shrimp and I would be crazy not to. They’re readily available in Savannah, they’re light, which makes them PERFECT for eating in the summertime, they take no time to prepare and they’re oh so versatile. Plus, I get to use my favorite seasoning on them…Old Bay! They’re plump and succulent, and most of all they taste Some Kinda Good. When it comes to all the ways you can cook with shrimp, I feel like Bubba in the movie Forrest Gump:

To celebrate the official kick off of shrimp harvesting season, I thought I’d round up a few of my favorite crustacean recipes and share them with you. Head out to your local shrimp purveyor and make one of these dishes. You’ll be glad you did. Learn more about Georgia shrimp season and be sure to check out that time I went Shrimpin’ on the Lady Jane.

Planning to make one of these dishes? Tag your photos with #SomeKindaGood and share them with me on social media! Your photo could be featured on Some Kinda Good’s official social media channels. Also, be sure to tune in to Food Network on Sundays at 9 PM to watch me compete on #FoodNetworkStar. Thanks for your support and happy shrimping!
